Summary:
Area Tech positions provide a clean, sanitary and aesthetically pleasing environment to the patients, visitors and staff of UNC HospitalsThese positions clean and disinfect all areas of the hospital according to prescribed procedures and standardsThese positions do not provide any direct patient care
Responsibilities:
1Cleans (dusts, disinfects, mops, restocks, pulls trash and inspects) occupied patient rooms 2Cleans discharge rooms in a timely manner for incoming patients 3Cleans support areas and critical care areas such as nurses stations, lounges, intensive care units and isolation rooms 4Enters data into the bed tracking system5Inspect ancillary and patient areas and projects6May serve as a team leader who plans and schedules tasks, makes work assignments, trains staff, controls bed tracking and inspects all areas throughout the hospital7Strip, wax, dust mop and damp mop floorsVacuum, bonnett and extract carpets8Trains and instructs new area techs in proper hospital policies and proceduresOther information:
1High school graduate or equivalent2Housekeeping experience is preferred3Ability to read and follow written instructions, to include MSDS sheets, policies and procedures4Ability to understand verbal communicationsJob Details Legal Employer:
