Sr Advanced Quality Engineer - 79639

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for providing aerospace level quality assurance support to the assigned customer(s).
The successful candidate will work closely with the Business Segment Team as well as the Integrated Supply Chain Product Centers.
They will assist with activities to define and deploy quality improvement programs for production and development products provided to customer.
This position involves influencing the development, and use of best practice processes in the production of our products, and applying six sigma methodologies with our customer.
The position requires breadth of technical experience across multiple programs and products, both electrical and mechanical, in order to work with our customers in determining appropriate quality requirements and processes.
Responsibilities include:
Directly interface with customer on quality issues and take appropriate actions to contain non-conformances, conduct root cause analysis investigation and drive problems to resolution.
Aggregate, analyze and report customer quality data related to customer returns, score cards and customer quality issues.
Develop monthly performance metrics for key customers and coordinate assignment of actions to appropriate functional departments.
Perform contract review and develop quality plans to flow-down contractual requirements.
Conduct process audits to assess continued compliance with contractual requirements.
Establish effective communication networks to ensure customer issues are resolved and corrective actions deployed consistently across the business.
Initiate and manage corrective actions in eCATS (online corrective action system).
Review and approve corrective action responses to ensure responses address root cause and systemic issues.
Perform follow-up audits to ensure effectiveness of actions.
Utilize six sigma tools and methodology to document and improve processes and conduct failure mode and effects analysis.
Basic
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
5 years Aerospace industry experience.
Due to ITAR restrictions this position requires United States Citizenship.
Additional
Qualifications:
Knowledge of aerospace hardware standards, and specifications.
Solid understanding of Quality standards; ISO, AS9100, QS9000, etc.
ASQ CMQ/OE; Green Belt, DFSS, Lean or Black Belt certification.
Demonstrated ability in using six sigma tools.
Strong PC skills including Excel and Access.
Ability to analyze/manage large quantities of data using database queries.
Program Management skills.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate project status and program needs across different levels of the organization; able to deal tactfully and confidently with internal, external customers and suppliers at all organizational levels.
